Mosotele Fotu Marina Hoglund (nee Vaai) holds the title of Mosotele from Vaisala, Savaii, Samoa. She grew up not only in Samoa but also in Fiji and Australia.
She is admitted to the Supreme Courts of the Australian Capital Territory (June 2000) and Samoa (November 2000) as well as the High Court of New Zealand (2010).
She has had over 20 years of legal experience (primarily in Samoan law but over 5 years in New Zealand law). She had a 2 year stint as a State Solicitor in Samoa’s Attorney General’s Office but has worked mostly in the private sector (with Vaai Lawyers, Vaai Hoglund & Tamati and then Vaai & Hoglund in Apia, Samoa and To’oala Law in Grey Lynn, Auckland).
She is based at our Auckland branch where she practises conveyancing as well as Samoan family law.
The greatest influences on her working life have been her parents, her late father Asiata Saleimoa Vaai and her mother Silafau Sina Vaai.
Her faith and family are important to her and she believes that in order to be kind to others, you must also be kind to yourself.
